AP Readiness Saturday November 14th

Dear AP Readiness Student,

The second AP Readiness Saturday Session will be held November 14. 2009 at UCLA from 9AM to 1 PM. Over 1200 students have applied for the program. To get credit for your attendance, you must sign in and out and complete the evaluation sheet given out at the end of class. YOU MUST ATTEND THE PROGRAM THE ENTIRE TIME. Only attend if you plan to listen, take notes and follow directions and stay for the both sessions. Listening to music, talking on your cell phone or to neighbors is not appropriate class behavior. Visiting Westwood or the Student Union is not attending the AP Readiness Workshops. Please bring your AP textbooks, study guides, lab manuals, calculators, notebook, pens and pencils. Also please provide your own snacks and drinks. No drinks or food will be provided. Please report to the following rooms for registration:

At registration you must sign in. You will be given a nametag to wear. This tag is for you to wear, not to put on walls or chairs. If this item is misused, it will not be given out again. You must choose to attend only one subject. Classes will be held on various places on the campus. These rooms are different each session. Please check the agenda and map.

Only four buses has been funded by LAUSD. The schedule will be faxed and emailed to your school on Thursdsay. No bus passes will be issued. For those of you who can provide your own transportation to UCLA, parking will be available for $10.00 in LOT 2.

To receive a Certificates of Participation, you MUST attend a minimum of three meetings. After attending three meetings, you will receive a Quik- Study Guide. To receive credit for attending you must sign both in and out and have a completed application on file. This is YOUR responsibility. If you participated last year and received a “FIVE” and have not received your flash-drive, please bring in a copy of your grade sheet from College Board to Geology 3680.



As posted on the class Calendar there will be AP Readiness this weekend. Attached you will find all the necessary forms.

As stated in class those students unable to make it will have to write a 2 page reflection for each of the sessions they miss weekend. If you miss both sessions you will have to write four pages of reflection (2 for each session.)

MAP TO DROP OFF POINT. Since there is no bus provided this time you should carpool or take public transporation. The 761 bus goes from Van Nuys to Westwood and drops off write at the corner of Westholme ave and Hilgard Ave.

AP biology - Cellular Respiration Lab

  1. Complete worksheet with analysis questions for Cell Respiration lab due Friday the 13th. 
  2. Also complete the Chapter 9 quiz from the Mader's website; www.mharis.com.  You have until Thursday at 10 pm PST to take the quiz.
